Step 10

Objective: 25.60 - 51.20 HRK

Starting Balance: 25.60 HRK

January 29, 2007 - I got 0.30 HRK of found money... one coin of 0.10 and one coin of 0.20. Although it was not found by me, as I already mentioned in one of my previous posts, I don't think it is against the rules to accept such gifts. First, it's found money, second it was given to me, and third I didn't ask to be given that money. So, I add that money to my doubling stake.

After dinner I went to the nearby store and redeemed 10 plastic bottles and got 5.00 HRK for them. That brings my doubling balance to 30.90 HRK.

Current Balance: 30.90 HRK

Step 9 - part 3

Objective: 12.80 -25.60 HRK

Starting Balance: 14.50 HRK

January 29, 2007 - Today I went to pick up two items I won on my first auction. I paid them 10.00 HRK. They were two hand made table decorations, made by crocheting. I resell them almost immediately, about two hours after buying them. I got 20.00 HRK for them. Out of that I paid 2.00 HRK (10%) to my mom as a finder's fee, because she found a buyer for me. So, my profit in my first real trading transaction for My Doubling Adventure was 8.00 HRK (20.00-10.00-2.00=8.00). In that moment my doubling balance was 22.50 HRK. Also, it is the first time I have paper money in my doubling stake (one 20.00 HRK note).

To complete this Step I did two more coin trades with my friends at work. I traded 0.50 HRK coin for 2.00 HRK coin (balance = 24.00), and 0.20 HRK coin also for 2.00 HRK (balance = 25.80). I took out 0.20 HRK as a profit of my doubling activities, and that bring my doubling balance to 25.60. BINGO! Step 9 is completed!

Step 9: Completed!

Current Balance: 25.60 HRK

Step 9 - part 2

Objective: 12.80 -25.60 HRK

Starting Balance: 14.00 HRK

January 28, 2007 - Nothing much to report. My mom found 0.50 HRK coin in local store and she took it for me. I hope it doesn't brake any rule, since it is found money, I was given that money and I didn't ask for it.

Current Balance: 14.50 HRK

Step 9

Objective: 12.80 -25.60 HRK

Starting Balance: 12.80 HRK

January 27, 2007 - My dad found 0.10 HRK coin and he took it for me. I also sold phone card to my mom for 1.10 HRK. So right now my Doubling balance is 14.00 HRK.

Now my capital is high enough to start trading some real stuff. Few days ago I opened account on one Croatian online auction site. Today I browse through different items and found several that fits in my current budget and that I believe I could sell for at least double price. I won on one auction. It is for two hand made items, made by crochet. The price is 10.00 HRK. I believe I could sell it for at least 20.00 HRK. I actually hire my mom to be my sales force. :) Some of her friends are interested in those kind of products, and I will even split the profits with her for everything she sell for me.

I bid for several similar items... one is for 15.00 HRK and one for 30.00 HRK. I will had to sell my first item fast so I can raise enough capital to purchase those other items. I also place bids for two juicers. If I won at least some of those items and successfully resell them, I think I will be very close to completing Step 11.

Current Balance: 14.00 HRK

Step 8

Objective: 6.40 - 12.80 HRK

Starting Balance: 6.40 HRK

January 26, 2007 - I sold tram/bus ticket. Actually, my mom sold it. I got 6.00 HRK for it. That increased my doubling balance to 12.40 HRK.

I also went to the store tonight to redeem my 3 plastic bottles for cash. I got 1.50 HRK for 3 bottles. That brings balance of My Doubling Adventure to 13.90 HRK. I took out 1.10 HRK as a profit of my doubling activities and concluded with 12.80 HRK. YES! Step 8 is completed. Step 9 here I come.

Step 8: Completed!

Current Balance: 12.80 HRK

My Doubling Stock of Items for Sale

Yesterday, after the work, I didn't go to the store to redeem my plastic bottle. Instead, I increase the number of plastic bottles in My Doubling Stock to 3. Will probably wait till I have at least 10 bottles to redeem. My main source of plastic bottles are my mom and dad.

Also, I think I found a buyer for my tram/bus ticket. But will be sure on that later today.

Few days ago I found an auction site that is based here in Croatia. I wasn't even aware we have that here. I already notice few nice deals, but they are still out of my reach. I think that in a next step or two this auction site will be great source of items that I could resell for nice profit. At least that is my overall plan for the next few steps. But I should be focusing just on my current step. So, how should I double 6.40 to 12.80 HRK? Will see that. :)

Let's do some Doubling!

Step 7 - part 2

Objective: 3.20 - 6.40 HRK

Starting Balance: 5.00 HRK

January 26, 2007 - I just completed the trade with one of my friends from work. I traded 0.50 HRK coin for two coins of 1.00 HRK. My balance after the trade was 6.50 HRK. I took 0.10 HRK out as a profit and I left with balance of 6.40 HRK. Mission completed!

Step 7: Completed!

Current Balance: 6.40 HRK

Step 7

Objective: 3.20 - 6.40 HRK

Starting Balance: 3.20 HRK

January 25, 2007 - First thing I did when I got to work was to check the coffee machine. And BINGO! This time I found 0.50 HRK on top of the coffee machine (not in change return thingy).

In that moment my Doubling balance was 3.70 HRK.

Next, I sell postage stamps to a friend from work for 0.30 HRK.

In that moment my balance was 4.00 HRK.

And I also did more trading with coins. I traded 1.00 HRK coin for 2.00 HRK coin with friend from work. Since I started My Doubling Adventure I done several coin tradings with friends from work, and every time I done it with another friend. I plan to do few more coin tradings and then will stop, hopefully before people start thinking I'm crazy. :)

Anyway, my balance right now is 5.00 HRK.

I also increased my stock of items for one plastic bottle. A friend of mine has this bottle in his office and I ask him if he can give the bottle to me. He said "yes", and I plan to redeem it after the work, on my way to home.

Current Balance: 5.00 HRK

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Step 6

Objective: 1.60 - 3.20 HRK

Starting Balance: 1.60 HRK

January 23, 2007 - On my way home from work I stopped by one store and redeemed 4 plastic bottles. I received 0.50 HRK for each bottle, 2.00 HRK in total for all 4 bottles. So, in that moment My Doubling Adventure has a balance of 3.60 HRK. I need 3.20 HRK for completing Step 6, so I took 0.40 HRK out as a profit. Now, I have 0.85 HRK in my pocket as a profit from My Doubling Adventure. And the most importantly... I completed Step 6! :)

Not bad. Today I completed 3 steps: Step 4, Step 5 and Step 6. Way to go!

Step 6: Completed!

Current Balance: 3.20 HRK

Step 5

Objective: 0.80 - 1.60 HRK

Starting Balance: 0.80 HRK

January 23, 2007 - I made two new trades with friends from work. First, I traded 0.50 HRK coin for 1.00 HRK coin with one friend. In that point my balance was 1.30 HRK. After that I went to another friend and traded 0.20 HRK coin for 0.50 HRK coin. New balance: 1.60 HRK! Bingo! Just completed Step 5! :)

Step 5: Completed!

Current Balance: 1.60 HRK

Step 4 - part 2

Objective: 0.40 - 0.80 HRK

Starting Balance: 0.70 HRK

January 23, 2007 - YES! I just traded 0.10 HRK coin for 0.20 coin with one of my friends at work. He didn't even ask why I need it. Soooooo... my new balance is:

0.80 HRK!

Sooooooo....

Step 4: Completed!

Current Balance: 0.80 HRK

Let's do some more trading! :)

New Items Added To My Doubling Project

I didn't find any coins in the coffee machine. But what I did found in my office is following:

- 1 unused tram/bus ticket (it can be used both in trams and in buses within the city transport area; it cost 6.50 HRK so I guess I could sell it for 2.00 HRK at least; I don't use public transport so I will probably never use it myself),
- 2 covers that I was ready to trow in the trash... but they have postage stamps on them so I keep stamps and trow away covers (4 postage stamps in total),
- 1 used phone card (it may even have some credits on it).

All of those items where found by me on different occasions in the past few months, and were just laying around in my office. Covers are from some mailings I got in my office and I will definitely throw them away together with stamps if I didn't start My Doubling Adventure. So, I think I didn't brake any Doubling Rule by keeping those items and adding them to my Doubling stock of items to sell.

Now My Doubling Adventure Project owns following items:

- 4 plastic bottles
- 1 unused tram/bus ticket
- 4 postage stamps
- 1 phone card (probably used)

So, let's do some trading. :)

Monday, January 22, 2007

Step 4

Objective: 0.40 - 0.80 HRK

Starting Balance: 0.40 HRK

January 22, 2007 - Today at work I checked the coffee machine twice, just in case someone didn't pick returning change after purchasing coffee or some other hot drink. I found nothing. Well, will keep checking each day, at least while I'm on these lower Steps.

I did one trade with my mother again. This time I traded 0.30 HRK for 0.60 HRK. So, my current balance is 0.70 HRK.

I also took four plastic bottles from my parents. I can get 0.50 HRK for one plastic bottle, so I figure those four bottles will be perfect for one of the following Steps. :)

Anyway, I didn't succeed to complete Step 4 today. Hope I will succeed to complete both Step 4 and Step 5 tomorrow. I plan to do some trading tomorrow with some of my friends at work. It will be "will you give me 1 kuna if I give you 50 lipas" type of trading. After the work I plan to go to one of the stores and exchange plastic bottles for money. And maybe I even find some coins in the coffee machine. :)

Current Balance: 0.70 HRK

Sunday, January 21, 2007

Step 3

Objective: 0.20 - 0.40 HRK

Starting Balance: 0.20 HRK

January 21, 2007 - I started my work on Step 3 by trading 10 lipas coin for 20 lipas coin with my mother. I ask her if she wants to exchange with me and give me 20 lipas for 10 lipas. Naturally, she agreed with the terms of the trade. :) She was a bit curious why I need that and what is it all about. I told her that I'm trying an experiment and that I will tell her later what is it all about. Initially, I planned to trade with my mother my 0.20 HRK for 0.40 HRK to easily complete Step 3, but she didn't have any more in so small coins.

So in that moment my balance was 0.30 HRK.

Evening was very nice, so I took a walk around the neighborhood with my daughter and my wife. After few minutes I found 5 lipas coin under one bench in front of our apartment building.

In that moment my balance was 0.35 HRK.

By the end of the walk I found 10 lipas coin laying in the grass at children playground, again in front of our apartment building.

I ended my hunt with balance of 0.45 HRK.

Since I need 0.40 HRK to complete Step 3, I removed the additional 5 lipas (0.05 HRK) as profit. Now I have 0.45 HRK in pocket change as a profit from My Doubling Adventure. I think I even can get a cup of tea for that price at work in our canteen. I usually don't drink tea, but tomorrow I might spend my Doubling profits on cup of tea. :)

Step 3: Completed!

Current Balance: 0.40 HRK

Step 2

Objective: 0.10 - 0.20 HRK

Starting Balance: 0.10 HRK

January 20, 2007 - After the grocery store we continue to enjoy nice evening by slowly walking in our neighborhood. We pass by primary school and my daughter wanted to climb up the stairs. I agree and we went up. When we get down the stairs I notice something shining in the grass. I look closely and YES! It was a 50 lipas coin. It was less than 10 minutes since I found my first 10 lipas and completed Step 1, and here I am now, with 60 lipas (0.60 HRK). I only need 20 lipas (0.20 HRK) to complete Step 2, so the additional 40 lipas (0.40 HRK) has to be removed as profit. This is direct effect of small changes I made to the original system where I apply Rule # 4 to found money as well. So, I will exchange 50 lipas coin for five coins of 10 lipas and then I will keep one coin of 10 lipas in My Doubling System in order to complete Step 2. The rest of the coins (0.40 HRK) I will remove from the system as profit.

Step 2: Completed!

Current Balance: 0.20 HRK

Step 1

Objective: 0.00 - 0.10

Starting Balance: 0.00 HRK

January 20, 2007 - I was on my first hunt to find coin of 10 lipas and complete the Step 1 of My Doubling Adventure. I was again on a nice evening walk, this time with my daughter and my wife. We went to the video store and to our local coffee bar. All the way I was looking to find that first coin of 10 lipas. And I found it! After the coffee bar we went to our local small grocery store and just bellow the paying desk there it was... a nice little coin of 10 lipas! I took it right away. And smile was on my face. :) First step of My Doubling Adventure was completed. I couldn't believe I made it on my first hunt. That little coin is a seed of adventure and wealth that will come by following the system and rules of "How To Double Your Way To A Million" ebook.

Step 1: Completed!

Current Balance: 0.10 HRK

Small Changes Of The Rules

I decided to follow all the rules of the system to the letter, with only two minor changes.

Firstly, I felt that some correction is needed in the value of the first coin (Step 1) in order to adjust the system to Croatian currency (Croatian kuna or HRK) . As current exchange rates are as follows:

1 GBP = 11.20 HRK
1 EUR = 7.36 HRK
1 USD = 5.68 HRK

it seems reasonable to choose 10 lipas instead of 1 lipa as starting point in Croatian version of doubling adventure. That way final amount after 28 steps will be 12,800,000.00 HRK. At current exchange rates that will be:

1,142,857.14 GBP or
1,739,130.43 EUR or
2,253,521.13 USD.

Much more exciting than 1,280,000 HRK, and much closer to original targeted amount of 1,280,000 GBP.

So, steps in such revised system will be (in Croatian kunas, HRK):

Step 1: 0.00 - 0.10
Step 2: 0.10 - 0.20
Step 3: 0.20 - 0.40
Step 4: 0.40 - 0.80
Step 5: 0.80 - 1.60
Step 6: 1.60 - 3.20
Step 7: 3.20 - 6.40
Step 8: 6.40 - 12.80
Step 9: 12.80 - 25.60
Step 10: 25.60 - 51.20
Step 11: 50.00 - 100.00
Step 12: 100.00 - 200.00
Step 13: 200.00 - 400.00
Step 14: 400.00 - 800.00
Step 15: 800.00 - 1,600.00
Step 16: 1,600.00 - 3,200.00
Step 17: 3,200.00 - 6,400.00
Step 18: 6,400.00 - 12,800.00
Step 19: 12,800.00 - 25,600.00
Step 20: 25,600.00 - 51,200.00
Step 21: 50,000.00 - 100,000.00
Step 22: 100,000.00 - 200,000.00
Step 23: 200,000.00 - 400,000.00
Step 24: 400,000.00 - 800,000.00
Step 25: 800,000.00 - 1,600,000.00
Step 26: 1,600,000.00 - 3,200,000.00
Step 27: 3,200,000.00 - 6,400,000.00
Step 28: 6,400,000.00 - 12,800,000.00

Secondly, I didn't like possibility, given by Rule # 1, to leapfrog Steps and to carry over funds to next Step in case of found money. In my opinion, those options are inconsistent with the Rule # 4 that specifically states following: "If your current step results in more than doubling, then you must spend the surplus on yourself and leave only the approved stake money.". I decide to apply Rule # 4 to found money as well. So, I will not leapfrog Steps nor carry over funds to next Step in case of found money.

All other rules presented in the "How To Double Your Way To A Million" ebook are unchanged and I will stick to all of them in My Doubling Adventure.

Starting Point

I get my hands on "How To Double Your Way To A Million" free ebook few days ago, on January 15. I like the idea immediately. Sounds like a fun project or experiment to do. And I decided to give it a go. Then I get distracted by other stuff online and didn't do much for my doubling adventure.

Yesterday, on January 19, I went for a nice, evening walk with my 3 years old daughter. And she was the one who found the first coin... 10 lipas (1 Croatian lipa = 1/100 Croatian kuna). That reminded me on my doubling adventure. But I didn't get the coin. My daughter insist it was her coin and that we should put it in her piggy bank. :) Of course I respect her wish.

But that little coin reminded me on fun little ebook I read just a few days ago. So, I read it again and I decided that this time I will really start my own doubling adventure. I went to Google to see if there are other Doublers out there and I really find that there are others who are on their own doubling adventures following the rules of that nice little free ebook "How To Double Your Way To A Million". I spend lots of time on other Doublers' blogs and enjoy reading about their progress.

I decided that tomorrow on January 20 I will start my own Doubling Adventure. And so I did. And I'm happy I started. :)
